Job Description

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager we are looking for the right person to fill this role working with flexibility in our Quality team to include the following tasks:

Quality Assurance

" Conduct regular checks of chicks at various stages within the hatchery - take-off, sexing, processing of chicks (vaccination / Novatech / etc); final quality checks at dispatch; etc
" Work with the hatchery and other members of the QA team to improve processes within the hatchery.
" Undertake additional hygiene monitoring as required and maintain the 3M hygiene sampling programme.
" Oversee the submission of swabs to the Vet lab according to agreed procedures.
" Conduct egg quality checks and provide feedback to the farming operation and QA Manager and where appropriate work with Production Managers to improve egg quality at source.

Report Writing
" Produce a weekly Egg Quality report.
" Produce a monthly Hygiene report.
" Generate and monitor Corrective action reports
" Produce a weekly BCW report

Data
" Aid in the collection of data to support specific customer complaint investigations
" Maintain records of all checks, update relevant quality databases and highlight any non-conformities to QA Manager, hatchery line management and production management as appropriate.

Welfare officer
" Act as Welfare officer for the Hatchery, ensuring that proper procedures are followed in bird handling and reporting any issues immediately
" Conduct regular daily welfare checks

Additional Duties
" Other Duties as and when requested by the QA Manager.

Working hours are 7am - 3pm Monday to Friday
