KEY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as company lead for all strategic and operational matters.
Be accountable to the Board of Directors (the Board).
Initiate and drive forward operational and strategic projects which promote and support members, levy payers, tourism and tourism businesses in Moray and sustain the success of VMS, in support of the VMS Business Plan and HIE recovery funding.
Ensure the proper day-to-day administration of the company including office accommodation, Board meetings and any correspondence associated with the company.
Ensure the proper and effective operation of the company in accordance with the Articles of Association, relevant legislation and best practice.
Ensure that projects and services are developed and delivered within the agreed budget.
Manage and be responsible for effective delivery and outcome reporting of work delivered under the HIE funded destination recovery project heading.
Oversee and be responsible for the effective management, disbursal and reporting of Beatrice SSE Windfarm community support funds.
Monitor expenditure and advise the Board of the financial position of the company including the assistance with the preparation of company accounts.
Effectively manage all areas of activity identified within the VMS Business Plan ensuring work is delivered within budget, to timescale and to the highest quality possible
Prepare reports and briefing papers, including regular updates on progress against the Business Plan, which enable the Board to make appropriate and informed decisions.
Prepare reports for the members of the company, the levy payers and other relevant authorities, as required on the progress of the company and the delivery of the Business Plan.

PEOPLE
Provide leadership and line management for staff to ensure the professional, effective and timely delivery of work and output.
Have overall responsibility for ensuring the effective recruitment, performance management, health, safety, well-being and development of all staff.
Support staff to appreciate and understand the contribution they make to the aims and objectives of the business improvement district.

PARTNERSHIPS
Build and maintain effective, productive working relationships at strategic and operational level with public agencies, elected representatives, VisitScotland, private sector partners, stakeholders, press and media and other relevant interest groups.

Liaise and work with the other agencies and bodies in relation to the strategic development and economic growth of VMS and the region`s destination recovery.
Represent VMS at a local, national and international level, ensuring that both Moray Speyside as a region and the Tourism BID company are positively communicated.

PROMOTION AND REPRESENTATION
Ensure that appropriate media are used to keep the members, levy payers, local businesses and the local community apprised of developments, new projects and activities of the company.
Co-ordinate marketing, promotional and associated events with the assistance (where necessary) of creative, design & marketing agencies to maximise impacts and outcomes within agreed budgets.
Ensure effective points of contact for the company`s members and levy payers, whether their payment is mandatory or the result of an opt-in.
Report Tourism BID company progress to the members and levy payers on a regular basis and in a variety of ways.
