Job Description

** Children and Young Peoples Support Worker **
** Northampton, Northamptonshire **
** Permanent and full time **
** 173 hours per month **
** 7-10 sleep ins per month **
** £18,500 - £19,000 plus £5,000 - £7,000 per year = £23,000 - £26,000 **
** At least 2 years of experience needed working with ages below 20 years old **

BS Social Care are currently working with a childrens service in the Northamptonshire area to recruit for a Residential Support Worker working with children and young people based in a childrens home working with emotional and behavioural difficulties. These children are aged 7yrs - 17yrs.

About the employer; this childrens care company holds a good profile in providing a range of services which have resulted in outstanding outcomes for the young people in their care. Their service is resourced to provide care to young people with issues such as substance abuse, eating disorders, sexual exploitation, emotional and behavioural difficulties, learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorder and complex needs (Solo/dual placement homes).

About the job; this is a role to support our children and young people through their first stages of life. Due to a number of reasons, our children and young people are now living within the homes of this organisation and require care to ensure they are safe at all times, that their needs are being met and that they have all the encouragement to give them the best start in life. You will assist with everyday tasks and also do fun activities such as paintballing, holidays and more.

About the candidate; it is essential that you are a driver and have your own car due to the locations of the houses. There is no public transport and we also need our candidates to complete school runs and take the children out. It is also essential that you have two years employment experience within the last two years of working with children and young people aged 20 years and below in any setting.

For this full time and permanent role you will be paid a basic salary of £18,500 - £19,000 plus an additional £5,000 - £7,000 for the sleep ins. You will also be entitled to a number of benefits such as; a large amount of training - mandatory, specialist and personal development, qualifications which will be paid for internal promotions and more.

You will work 173 hours per month which will include weekends and sleep ins. Shift examples are; 10am - 10pm / 12pm - 10pm / 2pm - 10pm / 10am - 10.30am / 10pm - 10.30am. There is not a rolling rota however, you will be given your rota 3-4 weeks in advance.
