Job Description

** Children, Young People and Families Support Worker **
** Northampton, Northamptonshire **
** Permanent and full time **
** 40 hours per week **
* Mixed shifts; earlies, lates, long days, 24 hours days - this all depends on the needs of the service users at the time *
** £19,000 **
** £30 per sleep top ups **
** Working with children and young people within supported living. This could be with a care leaver or with parents under a 12 week court order **

BS Social Care are currently working with a private care company to source a candidate within the Northampton area of Northamptonshire for a permanent and full time role. This Support Worker will work with care leavers following a care plan for their needs and parents who are under the courts to decide on whether or not the children are to be removed. This role is paying £19,000 per year for a contract working on average 40 hours per week. Top ups will be included at £30 per sleep in.


About the employer; this is a care company who provide care to children and young people who are care leavers from fostering placements, residential homes and secure units. They also support parents who are currently working with the courts.

About the role;
The purpose of the role is to assist in providing structured support for families and care leavers including but not limited to...
Understanding the lived experience of the child, young person or family
Assessing their needs to promote effective change and identifying innovative ways to engage with the child, young person or family.
Safeguarding, caring for and supporting children and young people when the parents might be experiencing difficulties for a variety of reasons.
Case management and keyworking with minimum supervision, including reporting, recording and liaising with other agencies, colleagues and line managers where appropriate.
Facilitating and delivering support programmes and packages targeted at children, young people or families.
Supporting parents to enhance their parenting skills by encouraging, teaching, modelling and supporting parents in a number of specific parenting tasks as recommended.
Supporting children and young people to develop their independent living skills.

About the ideal candidate; it is essential that you are a driver with a valid UK licence, that you hold a L3 in Children and Young People or relevant such as a Degree in Child Adolescences (childcare & health and social care cannot be accept - the qualifications needs to relate to 8yrs and above) and that you have at least 2 years' experience working with 8yrs and above. We cannot accept applications that do not meet this criteria.

In return, you will be offered a permanent and full time Support Worker role paying £19,000 alongside sleep in top ups of £30 per sleep, a host of benefits and masses of training, qualification opportunities and progression within the company.
