Job Description

** Childrens Home Manager **
** Permanent and full time **
** Kettering, Northamptonshire **
** Up to £42,000 alongside an approx bonus of £5k **
** Working within a 6 bedded LD residential home **

BS Social Care are currently working with a recently TUPE transfer organisation who are now recruiting for a Childrens Residential Home Manager caring for 6 children and young people with Learning Disabilities and Autism. This is a full time and permanent role paying up to £42,000 alongside a bonus structure with is approx £5,000 per year. Your working hours will be 40 hours per week over a 7 day rota including evening and weekend shifts x 52 weeks. On call duties also.

They own 4 other homes within the organisation. As an organisation they will endeavour to provide a family orientated, negotiated care package to meet the needs of all the children and their families.

About the job; the Registered Manager will have responsibility for the direct management of the children and young people and the management of the staff teams that support these children and young people to ensure that the highest standards of care are in place. To meet and promote the needs of the children and young people and provide opportunities to advance their opportunities and life experience in a positive manner. They will lead in the recruitment, maintenance and development of the staffing team. In addition to ensuring the home is run in line with company policy and will hold responsibility to quality assure that care is delivered against The Children`s Regulations and Quality Standards to meet all of Ofsted`s requirements. The Registered Manager will undertake a wide range of duties which will involve some direct and indirect care of children who have learning disabilities. They will be expected to work some shifts and work flexibly to meet the needs of the children and fulfil all health and safety requirements. They will provide part of the on-call service for the children`s homes alongside the management team and will have allocated on call days for which they are responsible.

About the ideal candidate;

- Within the last 5 years, you have worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to the residential care of children; and
- You have worked for at least 1 year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role (i.e. a position which consists mainly or solely of providing care for children).
- You will also need to have LD experience to support and guide the team.
Alongside the above, the below is also needed...
- Minimum of Level 3 Diploma/NVQ in children`s sector
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care or an equivalent qualification or willingness to complete within required timescale.
- Car driver and willingness to use own car in line with company Safe Driving Policy and a willingness to drive minibuses.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of working with children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs.
- Experience of working within a residential setting.
- Experience of effective line managing staff.
- Experience of completing supervisions and appraisals.
- Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding legislation and procedures.

This is a full time and permanent role working 40 hours per week. This role pays up to £42,000 alongside an approx £5,000 bonus and benefits.
