Job Description

This childrens residential home is a purpose-built throughout service for children and young adults with disabilities and additional needs. The children/young adults will be referred to this setting for respite care, children will have a variety of disabilities. The MAX time a child can stay is 28 DAYS.

38 HOURS per week - Mixed rotas of morning, afternoons, Long days, WAKING nights and SLEEPS

Staff must be pro-active, on the ball and able to think quick in any situations. Must be able to liaise both with parents and social workers in regards to the Childrens care plans.

We`re looking for people with at least 6 months` recently paid experience in health social care with a relevant qualification or 12 months` experience without. You`ll also be required to apply for an enhanced DBS or be registered with the DBS update service. You`ll be working both as part of a team and on an individual basis to help children and young people develop, learn and increase their independence through person centred care, you`ll carry out activities to encourage learning, build their understanding of the world and ultimately help them become an independent young adult. This role does involve challenging behaviour; it is an advantage to have Physical Intervention training.
