Brook Street are recruiting on behalf of our Public Sector Client based in Leuchars for a Clerical/Admin Assistant to start once clearance has been obtained. This is a 37 hour per week contract position with a pay increase after 12 weeks in post.
The candidate will provide routine administrative support tasks according to well-established procedures and must be educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
Duties will include but not be restricted to:
" Sorting and distributing mail
" The recording and despatch of all outgoing official mail, register parcels, letters etc
" Updating the Expenditure Sheets for the postal accounts and raising relevant payments
" The provision of a counter service to all personnel using the Central Postal Point.
" The issue of postage stamps for official mail balancing the stamp cash book monthly.
" The receipt and despatch of Station mail
" Photocopying, filing, posting or proof-reading data
" Answering telephone calls and relaying messages
Typical qualifications and experience:
" NVQ Business Administration level or previous experience of administration is required.
" Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
" Good communication skills, both oral and written
Candidates will be required to be fully referenced for the past 3 years and will need to pass a disclosure check. Once in post they must complete the Unit Postal Orderly Course (DUPSO) in accordance with clients policy.
