Clerical/Admin Assistant
Location: Nene House Pytchley Lodge Industrial Estate, Pytchley Lodge Road Kettering NN15 6JQ
Fully office based whilst in training. Possibility of Hybrid once training completed
Hourly rate: £12.52 per hour
Working Days/Hours: Part time - 11 hours a week. Thursday & Friday - between 9am - 5pm.
Contract: This a temporary position until August 2026 but due to be extended pending performance and business needs.

Brook Street in partnership with the Environment Agency has a fantastic opportunity to join their team as a Clerical/Admin Assistant.

Experience Needed/desired:
We're looking for a part time (11 hours per week) administration support assistant for the busy Anglian Waterways Team at the Environment Agency.
Working pattern to cover Thursday and Fridays and other times for shorter durations throughout the week.
We can accommodate working arrangements around school hours.
We are looking for an individual to be based as part of our team out of our Nene House Office at the Environment Agency on Pytchley Lane Industrial Estate.
There may be some limited travel involved to other sites and some sites in the field and all equipment and full training will be given.
There may also be a limited element or working on and near water in order for individuals to gain a better understanding and appreciation of the role.

List the duties/ responsibilities:

The Temporary Worker will provide administrative support.
They will follow set procedures and will exercise some independent judgment in carrying out instructions, under general supervision.
Examples of work performed will include but not be restricted to:
Good customer service skills and ability to handle challenging calls
Accurate data input and attention to spelling and grammar
Dealing with customers face-to-face and via telephone/email/post
Involvement with a helpdesk to issue navigation notices to customers to warn and inform the public about hazards, events and other issues on our navigations and waterways.

Clearance level (to be applied for by Brook Street upon a successful application):
Basic DBS

Training provided, what is their training plan and location of training:
No annual leave during training period. Training on 121 basis

Additional clearance if applicable:
Please note that period of 6 months or longer spent outside of the UK in the last 5 years will unfortunately require an additional overseas police check, this will be the responsibility of the candidate to provide.
