Administration Assistant (AA) - NHS Blood and Transplant

Type: temporary
Salary: £10.20 / hour

Brook Street has been chosen as a recruitment partner to hire temporary admin and clerical workers for central government departments across the UK - giving you the chance to gain credible experience in the public sector.
We're currently recruiting on behalf of a local government department for an Administration Assistant in Skipton House. This is an ongoing, long-term temporary assignment, working Monday - Friday (9am-5pm) and many of these opportunities offer a significant pay increase on completion of 12 weeks in the same department.

Providing routine administrative tasks, your duties will include:

" Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues, including internal staff and external organisations.
" Liaise and communicate effectively with colleagues and other departments, outside agencies and professional bodies, in a mature and professional manner.
" Record or communicate sometimes difficult information by telephone, email or paper correspondence, ensuring confidentiality of information at all times. This might include chasing information or responses from external organisations, presenting complex data, scheduling meetings with busy delegates, etc.
" Act as first point of contact for a range of queries from managers and staff (both telephone- and e-mail-based), responding where possible, escalating to manager when not guided by specific protocols or guidelines.
" Support the PA's and act on their behalf in their absence within the remit of the role, in order to meet deadlines, provide solutions and avoid disruptions.
" Effectively manage and process Equipment Hub work in line with deadlines and maintenance schedules.
" Organise, streamline and standardise database and reporting - Q Pulse.
" Proficient in software and IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel and databases.
" Proficient and experienced in office systems.
" Sorting and distributing mail
" Photocopying, filing, posting or proof-reading data
" Answering telephone calls and relaying messages

Typical qualifications and experience required:

" Two GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent)

" NVQ Business Administration level 1 (or suitable administrative experience)

" Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office

" Good communication skills, both oral and written
