Location: Nottingham

Job Title - Clerical/Admin Officer

Start date - asap

Temp hourly rate - £12.45 per hour

Duration -3 months initially

Role Type: Full Time working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday

Role Overview


Are you interested in the environment and keen to protect it by contributing to the regulation of potentially damaging activities? This temporary admin role could be the one for you.

The Environment Agency Permitting Teams' primary role is to protect the environment and support economic growth through determining applications for environmental permits and licences and providing advice and guidance to their internal and external customers.

Whilst relevant work experience would be an advantage, it's much less important than your ability to demonstrate the key skills they're looking for:

" organise and prioritise a large workload
" time management
" attention to detail
" Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a range of audiences and able to adapt communication style to suit audience
" make sound and timely decisions and identify solutions to problems
" be able to follow established processes and identify when a situation falls outside of it
" comfortable working from home, integrated virtually into a team
" be passionate about the environment
" Competent IT and data skills; experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is essential.
" Experience with mapping software such as GIS would be beneficial.
" Ability to adapt to using new IT systems
" Ability to digest, analyse and interpret information in a variety of formats including numerical, written and diagrammatical
" Be able to spot anomalies in sometimes large volumes of data
