Job Description

My client is an award winning Microsoft Partner based in the North East who are growing and developing at a pace, this is a new role offering hybrid working.

Cloud Infrastructure Consultant

Summary of Job Function: Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to manage and improve our public and private cloud platforms, that enable the delivery of cloud solutions to both existing and new customers. In this key position, the Cloud Infrastructure Consultant is the technical lead in major projects within our private platform and Azure infrastructure, and critical in ensuring the smooth running and security of Company systems on a day-to-day basis.

Secondary to this is to act as a Technical Consultant for project implementations both internally and externally.
Duties & Responsibilities:
o o Manage, maintain and improve our Cloud presence in our Private Datacentre and in Azure
o o Technical lead of internal & external projects related to our platforms
o o Escalation for 3rd line Technical Engineers
o o Recommendation of improvements to existing processes and products
o o Ensures availability and performance of production systems
o o Ensures security best practices are followed for all Company
o systems and risks are remediated or escalated
o o Ensuring all monitoring tools are available and performing correctly
o o Escalation to Infrastructure Manager for any critical or security incidents
o o Providing support & escalating to senior members of the business when required
o o Providing support to colleagues across the wider business
o o Available for, potentially out of hours, major incidents

Essential Technical and Personal skills:
o o Deep understanding of VMWare including ESXi Host and Vcenter configuration and maintenance
o o Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Server technologies including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP etc
o o Significant experience with Citrix, including Netscalers, MCS, Storefront and Citrix Cloud etc in a multi-tenanted environment
o o Backup solutions, ideally Veam, Azure and Skykick
o o Minimum of 4 years experience in a senior technical role using Citrix and VMWare Advanced troubleshooting skills
o o Excellent internal and external communications
o o Organised and thorough approach

Desirable Technical Skills
o o Microsoft Azure, including AAD, Storage Account, Workspaces , InTune etc
o o Microsoft Office 365 Tenant management
o o Storage systems including IBM V700, QNAP, Synology and Microsoft Storage Spaces
o o Monitoring systems
