Job Description

Cloud Technical Project manager with substantial experience around Cloud technologies and Azure migration.

The Cloud Technical Project manager will support the client`s cloud programme within the Digital delivery team and will be tasked with leading cloud migrations (Azure), operating model improvements and decommissioning of legacy infrastructure.

o Cloud Technical Project manager - Essential Experience
o Strong technical Project and Programme Management experience with a solid delivery history.
o Experience of working on Cloud technology programmes including migrations and challenging a current model. (Azure)
o Ability to communicate and champion Cloud technologies) across a large scale organisation.
o Experience of optimising cloud operations within a transformation environment.
o Technically hands-on and a strong core project management abilities including managing technical/business teams and problems, issues, risks and change management.
o Track record of delivering global cloud migrations and cloud projects with the ability to influence a variety of stakeholders.
o Strong commercial acumen with the ability to achieve best value.

Some of the tasks to be carried out at will include:

o Ensure the scope of the delivery is formally signed off and not a moving target
o Formal signoff of the architecture design and migration approach from Infosec
o Review the finding and respond from Microsoft on their evaluation of the architecture design and approach
o Evaluate application mapping and grouping of systems
o Point of communication with stakeholders and keep them abreast with the forward schedule of changes and migrations in the pipeline
o How are existing core operations components like Monitoring, patching, code deployment, delegation of permissions, Antivirus, IPS, backups, restores extended in Azure
o Project team resource evaluation.
o Resource capacity and allocation
o What can/has been automated and can be repeated
o Define tranches of services to migration and proposed timelines. Revaluate the tranches and expected delivery dates based on the first 1-2 migration waves
o Communication to business and a forward schedule of changes
o Standard and consistent testing and validation across all services when migrations take place and sign off thereafter
o Service transition into support.
o New services coming on board as part of the migration, example WAF, firewalls - Support and service design and transition
o On-premise backup data, move to an archival area to future restores
