Brook Street are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Account Handler for a family business which has been running for over 30 years based in the Gosforth area of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Duties to be performed in the role will include:
Accurately preparing quotations, renewals and endorsements and place new and existing business
Ensure that all correspondence is checked and complies with relevant regulations
Administering and renewing existing insurance clients. inviting and confirming renewals, dealing with mid-term Adjustments, broking client requirements within the insurance market and providing assistance with claims issues when Appropriate and collection of money when requested.
Deliver a comprehensive Insurance service to existing and new customers.
Control your own diary system, ensuring all items are followed up by the due dates, particularly in relation to Outstanding documentation from clients or insurers, premium payments and continuation cover
Assist, when required, with the Accounts function of the business in carrying out credit control with relevant customers. To be responsible for ensuring the collection of monies from clients within the Companys agreed credit period, whilst maintaining good relationships with those clients and with insurers
Working on a range of policy types across a wide variety of commercial products.
Meeting clients where necessary
Cross selling policies or schemes to existing clients.
Commercial account handling experience essential
Insurance broking experience
Relevant technical Insurance knowledge
Demonstrate good communication, decision making and problem solving skills
Experience within Commercial Insurance products.
Ability to use insurance industry IT systems (preferably Open GI)
Ability to handle, maintain, develop and retain existing clients for full commercial portfolios, including setting up all appropriate actions required for contract renewal.

Understanding of the importance of client confidentiality and professional discretion outside of the workplace.
Ability to co-ordinate workload across multiple functions
Excellent communication skills - proficient both verbally and in writing
A desire and the drive to go the extra mile for the client's customers
To start ASAP on a permanent basis with a salary of £26,000 - 28,000.
Your hours of work will be Monday - Friday, (flexible 30-37.5 hours per week).
