Job Description

Our client based in the Newport area are looking to recruit a permanent Compliance Surveyor within their Compliance Team to assist in the delivery of a professional compliance service in relation to fire safety and asbestos management.

You will be responsible for ensuring the company complies with its statutory duties as landlords in regards to fire safety and asbestos management. To ensure fire risk assessments and asbestos surveys are carried out within defined timescales.

You will be providing technical fire safety advice to colleagues/contractors across the association and a key aspect of this will be to deliver training and coaching to staff to help support a robust fire safety culture.

You will be reviewing the fire strategies of existing and new developments and recommend solutions to improve fire safety features though onsite visits and assessments.

You will be maintaining an accurate and up to date data compliance database.

Reviewing and providing fire safety and asbestos reports to colleagues across the business.

Undertaking site audits to ensure works have been carried out to a high standard.

It is essential you have qualifications in:

NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety

HNC/HND Fire Safety Engineering or equivalent

Level 4 certificate in Fire Safety Risk Assessors/Auditors or equivalent.

Knowledge of understanding of building construction methods and understanding and application of Fire Regulatory Order. Experience of implementing and reviewing fire risk assessments and recommending remedial action.
