Job Description

Brook Street Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting a Construction Buyer on behalf of our client located in Derry/Londonderry ( Northern Ireland )

This is very must a hands-on post a hands-on post and applicants must have gained at least a minimum of three years`experience in a similar purchasing role working within a fast-moving environment and it is preferred that

The successful applicant will use internal systems in order to forecast to work towards price reductions and in line with our lean manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate will also have experience working with an MRP package to compliment the buying process.

Applicants should be self-motivated driven individuals with a successful track record in a similar role

Responsibilities will include:

* Purchasing materials/tools for sites
* Hiring plant/tools for sites
* Assisting with getting prices for estimating department
* Establishing relations and setting up accounts with new suppliers
* Ensuring deliveries are on time and correct
* Filing of all delivery dockets sent through from site
* Liaising with accounts department as required

Skills/Requirements:

* Experience of buying in the construction industry
* Highly skills with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Experience in groundworks and concrete works is an advantage
* Quantity Surveying qualifications would be beneficial but not essential
* Experience of assisting with the preparation of Risk and Method Statements advantageous
* Detailed orientated and works with a high degree of accuracy
* Highly organised, punctual and flexible
* Ability to multitask and meet changing deadlines
* Accounts experience desirable
* Maintains staff confidentiality
