Job Description

Brook Street Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting a full time and permanent Construction Manager/ Contracts Manager for our client in Derry/ Londonderry.

Due to company expansion, they are seeking someone to work across the company's portfolio of projects within the residential, commercial and retail sectors based in the UK and Ireland.

Role and Responsibilities will include:

* Leading multiple projects from the start through to completion
* Ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget
* Ensuring that the company's safety and environmental standards are being adhered to
* Work on a wide variety of projects at once, managing the day-to-day work
* Managing client relationships and looking to ensure the business meets and exceeds their expectations at all times
* Overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of all allocated projects
* Overall management of operations and multiple assigned projects from commercial projects, private residential developments & social housing schemes
* Preparation and implementation of contracts & the management and co-ordination of demanding schedules
* Effective planning and programming of labour and projects, the selection of sub-contractors, management of the site team and direct labour & liaising with the client and design teams
* Ensuring that the works are constructed in accordance with the Contractors and Clients requirements
* Implementing the Company Health & Safety Procedures including safety inspections of the site and ensuring regulations relating to health, safety is being met
* Working to the programme of work and strategy for the project
* The ability to communicate effectively across all levels
* Working day to day along the commercial team

Skills will include:

* Proven experience managing various construction schemes, ideally within the commercial & residential (private & social) sectors
* A track record / experience of project management
* Proven ability to lead and manage teams
* Ability to manage the sub-contractors and large site teams
* Experience as Project Manager or Contracts Manager on Commercial Fit Out projects on site or running multiple projects
* Previous Construction experience is preferred ideally on Residential/Commercial Refurbishment
* Exceptional attention to detail
* Knowledge of current health and safety legislation
* Able to work as part of a team
* Strong work ethic
* An excellent communicator
* Have strong commercial awareness
* Good IT knowledge
