CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER
Fixed Term Contract - minimum 6 months
£30,000 pro-rata

General Overview:
Our client is looking for an experienced continuous improvement engineer to join their team in Telford. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of SAP from an engineering perspective, be experienced in continuous improvement, ideally Lean, from the concept through to implementation.

The purpose of this role is to achieve improvements within processes and products.
You will be conversant and have strength in the complete Lean process, processing ideas conducting the critical analysis, proposals and implementation.
The SAP functions you would need to be conversant with are the Routes, BOM`s and constructing BOM`s.
You will be working alongside another Lean engineer in various areas of the manufacturing to include Production, Assembly and Fabrication.

37.5 hr week - ideally rotating shifts 6-2 2-10 but will consider other options.

Duties

" Create and maintain SAP manufacturing data, BOMs, Routing, Work centres for all product lines.
" Review product costings and provide recommendations.
" Critical analysis of manufacturing processes to recommend improvements to flow, cycle time, layout.
" Carryout work measurement on all manufacturing process. Record results. Maintain standard minute values in SAP and provide recommendations
" Identification and implementation of kaizen opportunities.
" Ensure optimum effectiveness of all processes through use of appropriate work measurement and continuous improvement techniques to include Flow and activity charting, process analysis, critical examination, ergonomic evaluation, SMED, value analysis, cellular manufacturing, material flow, lay outs.
" Provide support that ensures effective introduction of new products through costing and feasibility studies.
" Continuous improvement of SAP master data systems. Identifying ways and means of improving the product creation process. Documenting the process and training other users.
" To support all aspects of the Management System.
" Support the maintenance & development of the management system.
" Maintenance of the ISO Audit program/system.
" Evaluation of the audit system for its effectiveness and to identify area`s for improvement.
" To process map key business processes as required.
" To carry out Company audits as per the annual audit plan.
