Job Description

NHS Digital - Contracts Assistant
Location: Leeds City Centre
Hours: Monday - Friday (37 hours)
Pay: £9.28ph increasing to £10.79ph


This is an ongoing temporary position with the possibility of a further extension at the discretion of the business requirements.

Role Overview:

We are currently recruiting for full time Contracts Assistant to join the Team with our client, NHS Digital based in Leeds City Centre. The role will include working as part of a flexible busy office within the Commercial Operations Team and will be managing several tasks on your own and providing Administrative support for others.

Responsibilities include:

  • Using the NHS database to obtain electronic signatures
  • Creating contract records from (sometimes lengthy) contract documentation
  • Ensuring new contracts and requisitions go through the correct governance and approval processes
  • Managing the legal billing process using MS Excel and Outlook to ensure that all incoming invoices and documentation are verified and processed in a timely fashion
  • Analysing complex data and demonstrating attention to detail
  • Managing conflicting priorities as part of a variable and changing workload

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • No qualifications or prior knowledge are necessary as full training will be given, however any experience of the Commercial Life-cycle or Finance would be an advantage
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and other programmes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good written English and a good head for numbers is essential to this role
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • The successful candidate will be a good team player with a positive attitude to work, who is able to focus on complex tasks in an open plan (and sometimes noisy) environment
  • Financial control
  • Quick learner
