Job Description

** Coordinator (Homelessness) - Luton, Bedfordshire**
** Luton, Bedfordshire **
** £23,218 - £26,983 **
** Contract until 2023 and full time **
** 37.5 hours per week **
** Hours generally tend to work 9am - 5pm during the week however some evening and weekend work is needed **
* Excellent understanding and experience of alcohol and drug use, mental health and rough sleeping needed in a paid role

BS Social Care are currently working in partnership with a well-established organisation who assist people through homelessness. This post is a fixed term contract that has recently been extended to 2023 and will offer full time hours working 37.5 hours per week which may include some evening and weekend work.

This service is to help anyone who is vulnerable and needs assistance with any aspect of their lifes.

About the job;
The post holder will work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team at the service to deliver high quality provision by:
Working in the community as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and in close partnership with rough sleeping and street based services, to proactively engage with individuals with physical and/or mental health issues and involved in drug and alcohol use and rough sleeping who also have trauma issues that prevent true engagement with male workers.

About the ideal candidate; to apply for this role, you must have the following...

Education Knowledge and Experience:
Experience of working in the health and social care sector with vulnerable clients with support needs, including drug and alcohol use and mental health.
In-depth knowledge of the following: alcohol and drug use, mental health and rough sleeping.
A clear understanding and demonstrable experience of working with service users who have multiple and complex needs.
A clear understanding of trauma (childhood and adult) and how this impacts on behaviour, and using a trauma-informed approach
Understanding the importance of multi-agency working within a strength based, asset building approach and maintaining professional boundaries
Experience of facilitating multi-agency meetings
Experience of and a commitment to, working positively in partnership with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies. Good administrative, recording and reporting skills.
Experience and knowledge of safeguarding procedures applicable to children and vulnerable adults.
Knowledge of Supported Housing
Experience of case management.

Specialist training such as one or more of the following:
Trauma Informed Care, Psychological informed environments (PIE), Motivational interviewing.

Abilities and Skills:
Excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills.
Emotional resilience and a diplomatic and pragmatic approach to managing conflicting priorities and situations.
Confidence to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of services, representing the organisation and creating effective pathways.
Confidence to work autonomously as well as part of the team.
The ability to work with confidence and patience with clients unwilling to engage with services and those that exhibit challenging behaviour.
The ability to work unsociable hours as and when required, sometimes in severe weather conditions.
Good level of IT literacy, including the ability to use IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to critically reflect and evaluate interventions, service delivery and areas for development.
Driving license / access to transport.
