Exciting Opportunity for an Administrative Officer at Westminster Magistrate's Court
Full-Time | Temporary 6 month assignment
Location: Westminster Magistrate's Court & City of London Magistrates
Hourly Rate: £14.75 (inclusive of holiday pay and pension scheme)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (37 hours per week)

Are you an organised and reliable individual with a passion for public service? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Admin Officer to join the Customer Services Department at Westminster Magistrate's Court. This is a vital role supporting the effective functioning of court services.
Key Responsibilities:
You will work across both administrative and public-facing duties, including:
Customer Service & Court Support (List Caller duties):
Prepare courtrooms and daily court lists
Greet and check in defendants, solicitors, and other court users
Manage and distribute court files and paperwork
Escort and swear in witnesses, interpreters, and police officers
Respond to public enquiries in the courthouse
Support a range of stakeholders including Clerks, Probation Services, Police Liaison Officers, and Drug Workers
Please note: This role requires occasional public speaking within the courtroom.
Administrative Duties:
Handle enquiries at the public counter and over the phone
Input data from CITM trial forms into internal databases
Book ad-hoc court interpreters and manage their timesheet data
General administrative tasks to support the Customer Services team
Skills & Requirements:
Strong administrative and organisational skills
- experience working in a public facing environment is essential
Confident using Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
Excellent verbal and written communication
Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
A professional, positive attitude and a team player
Additional Information:
This role is strictly on-site; remote work is not available
Full training will be provided
A Basic DBS check is required prior to starting (Brook Street will arrange this)
All successful candidates will be subject to security clearance, which may take 2-3 weeks
