Brook Street is currently seeking full-time Court Ushers to work in the Telford Justice Centre on a temporary, ongoing basis.

This is a fabulous opportunity to join a friendly and helpful team where full training is provided with ongoing support.

You'll need:

strong communication and people skills
the ability to deal with people in sensitive or difficult situations
work calmly under pressure
keyboard and basic IT skills

professional attitude

Duties will include;

preparing the courtroom
meeting and greeting court users and visitors
keeping people informed of changes to hearing times
checking that witnesses, defendants and lawyers are present
calling defendant and witnesses into court
directing the taking of oaths
labelling evidence and passing it to the judge and jury
passing messages between lawyers and legal advisers
keeping order in the public areas
reception duties and answering the phone
data entry, filing and photocopying

You will need to undergo security clearance and reference checks prior to commencing this position.

The pay rate is £8.21 per hour for over 25's and £7.70 if you're under 25.
