We have a great opportunity for a Court Usher working at one of the Courts in Basildon. You will be working 37 hours per week between Monday - Friday from 9am-5pm.
This is a temporary position which is expecting to run until the end of this year and this could be extended into 2019.
The role of an Usher entails organising the court whilst working in a team of Ushers, greeting visitors, calling witnesses and defendants into court. You will direct witnesses in the taking of oaths and swearing in jurors. You will also be required to carry out administration duties such as filling, data entry so you must be able to use Microsoft office. A large element of this position will involve filing documents so you must be accepting of this before applying.
The successful candidate will work well in a team, have the confidence to speak to a range of people from all walks of life and someone who is a good communicator. As you will be working within a government booking you will be required to go through a compliance process. This will involve undergoing a criminal check and visiting the Chelmsford Office to complete the vetting paperwork.
You will be working 37 hours per week Monday - Friday with a pay rate of £7.83 per hour. This will increase after 12 weeks to £7.92p/h which is paid weekly.
