Our public sector team are looking for a temporary worker to join their team as a Court Usher. This is initially a temporary role until 30/09/22 with the chance of an extension. This is a full time role, 37 hours, Monday - Friday. Hours of work will be around 9am - 5pm. The pay rate for this role is £9.94.
The main purpose of the role of an usher in the Crown Court is to ensure the smooth running of the court room by assisting the Judge/clerk with the daily list.
To act as marshal in the court room, swearing in witnesses, taking charge of jurors, using court room technology, such as video links and recording equipment, and liaising with a wide range of people including Barristers, Solicitors, defendants and vulnerable people.
There will also be some administration work such as filing, answering emails or phone calls. The day to day skills required are very good customer service, good basic computer knowledge. Training will be provided to all successful candidates.
The ideal candidate for the role will have administration and customer service experience.
