Job Description

Our client HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is an agency of the Ministry of Justice. HMCTS provides administrative support for the legal system across England and Wales, ensuring justice works for everyone.

Our justice system defends our fundamental rights and freedoms. It is a cornerstone of our modern society and it must serve all those who call on it, when they call on it. From some of the most vulnerable people in our society, to families in crisis, claimants and commercial businesses - HMCTS has a responsibility to administer a justice system that is accessible to everyone and operates efficiently.

Our public sector client are looking for a temporary worker to join their team as a court usher/admin assistant. This is currently a temporary role until 21/02/24 with the chance of an extension. This is a full-time role, Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week. Your usual working hours will be 8:30am - 5pm. The pay rate for this role is £10.95 per hour.

As a court usher/admin assistant you will ensure a smooth running of the courts. You will be dealing with people from all walks of life. Your day to day duties will include:
- Meeting court users
- Giving directions to court rooms
- Communicating with Judges and Magistrates
- Assisting with the set up hearing rooms
- Using in house databases
- Updating records and recording outcomes

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong customer service skills. Training will be provided.
