Job Description

We are looking for a Court Usher to work for one of our clients, MOJ located in Wakefield. The rate of pay will be £7.83ph and will increase to £7.92ph after 12 weeks. 37 hours per week Monday-Friday. This will be a temporary on-going assignment.

The role will involve the following duties:
- Filing and extracting of files
- Post opening
- Preparing post
- Preparing courts for sitting
- Filling water bottles & ensure clean glasses are available
- Ensure there is paper available for the Adjudicator
- Liaise with the Adjudicator and Court Section
- Obtain names of all parties and complete front sheets with court results
- Swear in witnesses as appropriate
- Photocopy any documents required by the court
- Ensure smooth running of the courts
- Comply with office standards
- Provide assistance in the post room or elsewhere within the office as and when required
- Wash and tidy away glasses at the end of the court sitting


To be considered for the position you must be:

- Able to remain calm, polite and tactful when dealing with difficult people
- Aware of customer needs and be efficient dealing with the queries
- Able to work effectively with others irrespective of differences
- Able to tackle unacceptable behaviour in a constructive manner
- Approachable, non-judgemental
- Able to treat all colleagues fairly and must be sensitive to their needs as individuals


An Enhanced DBS will be carried which will need to come back clear.
