Brook Street are currently recruiting for a Credit Controller to work with the VCA on a temporary basis, based in Bristol.

This Crecit Controller role is a vital part of the finance function within VCA. Each credit controller has their own sales ledger and takes responsibility of chasing and collecting debt for the customers that are assigned to them. Credit control are responsible for accessing the online banking facility and posting receipts onto customer accounts, creating pro-forma invoices, sending copy invoices, statements and dealing with numerous queries that arise. Credit Control interacts with VCA departments in the UK offices and the overseas business units, either by telephone or e-mail. The role is varied but the main aim is to collect overdue debt, to increase cash flow and minimise risk to VCA.

Main Duties
" To closely monitor client accounts of both UK and overseas customers.
o Record details and reporting findings to the credit control manager;
o Chasing payment of debt via telephone, e-mail and letter;
o Where necessary proposing accounts for legal action.
" Post journals onto relevant customer accounts, allocate receipts and generate reports.
o Download bank statements and allocate of BACS / Funds Flow and CHAPS receipts;
o Process credit card / debit card payments, cheques, postal orders, etc. and allocate receipts
o Monitor prefunded accounts and contact clients to arrange top-up where necessary;
o Ensure month cash targets are met;
o Run sales ledger month end reports and confirm balances prior to month end close.
" Customer account administration
o Undertake credit checks, open new accounts when authorised by signatories, as per authority limits;
o Produce pro-forma invoices;
o Provide copy invoices, credit notes or statements, as and when required;
o Point of contact for customer account queries.

This is a full time temporary assignment, 37 hours a week, ongoing until 09/06/21. This role requires a basic DBS which will be processed once the chosen candidate is registraing. This role pays £8.87 rising to £11 after 12 weeks. Previous Credit control experiance is advantageous.
