Job Description

Brook Street (UK) are a specialist recruitment agency dedicated to finding all of our candidates the best work based on experience and individual requirements.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced credit controller position based in Sunderland on a full time basis. Salary is dependent on experience.


  • Contacting individual customers when payment is overdue requesting them to settle their account.
  • Explaining the terms of their contract.
  • Negotiating payment plans.
  • Setting up and maintaining records.
  • Processing payments.
  • Starting legal proceedings if debts are not paid within the agreed time.
  • Liaising with solicitors where necessary.
  • Any ad hoc duties as requested by the Office Manager.

Essential Criteria:

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Must have the relevant experience to complete the above tasks with the minimum of training and supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An assertive but tactful manner.
  • Calmness under pressure.
  • Be a good team player, whilst self-motivated.
  • Attention to detail.
