Job Description
Brook Street is working with our Belfast client on the Airport Road to recruit a Full time permanent Credit Controller to join their team
The primary purpose of the role is to ensure prudent and necessary business decisions are made in a timely manner to manage the company's credit risk.
The Credit Controller's responsibility is to follow department procedures to maximise cash flow. The role requires the ability to identify trends across their given customer portfolio and to act appropriately and decisively.
Job Responsibilities include:
* Manage assigned customer base and ledger(s) as part of the Credit Control team
* Maintain regular customer contact by phone, email etc.
* Manage bad debt movement on assigned ledger(s) and identify accounts that may require special attention or are at high risk
* Negotiate and agree payment plans
* Work with minimum supervision on collection of overdue debts
* Use own initiative to achieve targets while promoting customer centricity
* Liaise with sales team to ensure timely collection of outstanding debt and resolve disputed accounts with customers to bring payments into line with credit terms
* Obtain sufficient information through the credit checking process to assess credit worthiness of new and existing customers and make recommendations
* Ensuring credit management policies and procedures are adhered to
* Weekly/monthly reporting identifying individual key measurement and performance statistics including other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Credit Control Manager and Supervisor
Criteria
* Minimum of 2 - 3 Years + experience in credit control and debt collection
* Minimum of 5 GCSE passes at grades C or higher including English & Maths or equivalent
* Certificate in Credit Management or a Degree in Business Administration or equivalent is desirable
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Experience of Business Central an advantage
* Display a high level of numerical ability
* Clear understanding of what is required to deliver excellent customer service
* Confident communication and negotiation skills - Must be professional yet assertive when required
* Team orientated with the ability to work on own initiative
* Ability to reconcile complex accounts
* Capable of working in a methodical and structured manner
* Good attention to detail
Salary will depend on background - up to £25,000 per year
Working Monday to Friday 09.00am and 17.00pm
