Brook Street Recruitment is working with our Belfast client to recruit an experienced Customs Administrator

The candidate hired will work closely with various other internal departments and external clients to ensure the smooth passage of goods for their customers.


Responsibilities
Request customs clearance documents from customers prior to cargo arrival.
Complete Customs entries on internal system and submit to HMRC
Raise customer files, collecting and completing all documentation prior to release and/or delivery of consignment.
Secure payment cleared funds for duty/vat prior to release and delivery of consignment
Organise and arrange deliveries as per customer requirements.
Processing and checking of invoices.
Monitor uncleared entries on a daily basis.
File, closing cost and sales invoicing to be completed in a timely manner.
Computerised data entry into internal bespoke customs software packages.
Ensuring compliance with all customs procedures by properly documenting and controlling all mandatory customs functions.
Liaising with various stakeholders throughout the customs process to ensure the efficient transport of goods.
Query resolution, month end reporting and other general administrative tasks.


Essential Criteria:

Previous customs related experience
5 GCSEs or equivalent at grade C (Maths & English).
Proficient with using PC - experience (Microsoft Packages).
Ability to multi-task, work as part of a team and work to tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills.

Salary will depend on background - circa 24k -28k per annum
