Brook Street Recruitment is working with our Belfast client to recruit a full time and permanent Customs Coordinator to join their expanding team.
This is a learning and development opportunity with full on the job training and support; you will join the current team of Customs Coordinators who are responsible for the collating of all information from our stakeholders, customs entry input and arranging payment of duties and VAT to HMRC to enable Customs release of consignment.
Request customs clearance documents from customers prior to cargo arrival.
Complete Customs entries on internal system and submit to HMRC
Raise customer files, collecting and completing all documentation prior to release and/or delivery of consignment.
Secure payment cleared funds for duty/vat prior to release and delivery of consignment
Organise and arrange deliveries as per customer requirements.
Processing and checking of invoices.
Monitor uncleared entries on a daily basis.
File, closing cost and sales invoicing to be completed in a timely manner.
Filing and archiving job files once completed.
Liaising and cooperating with HMRC on queries.
Responding to and dealing with customer communication by email and telephone.
Maintaining customer relationships and monitor the quality of service they are receiving.
General administrative duties
Educated to A level or equivalent,
GCSE Maths & English -grade C or above
Strong administration and organisational skills
IT Literate with a strong knowledge of Word, Excel and outlook
Be able to work in a team
Ability to multi task
Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast moving industry.
Must have excellent communications skills on both phone and email in English language.
Must be an enthusiastic and energetic individual with the desire to learn new skills.
Must have full UK driving licence and access to own transport
Flexible to work additional hours if required
Flexible to travel and work at all sites/ locations if required
Salary will start on £20,000 pr annum
