Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to assist Lincolnshire Police in their development of a new business intelligence tool. This is a permanent role.

The Business Intelligence (BI) Dashboard Developer role will support the development of business intelligence and data visualisation to inform decision making and achieve the organisations strategic objectives.

The post holder will work closely with various departments across the organisation to gather data requirements and to deliver data visualisation dashboards.


Main Responsibilities:
1.Deliver the reporting requirements specified for the development of business intelligence tools. Make best use of data and technology to help monitor, manage and prioritise strategic, operational and tactical decision making and risk, ensuring the workforce can make informed and timely decisions.
2. Develop data sets to enhance operational decision making capabilities and present this complex management information through intelligent and interactive visual insights and solutions.
3. Support and drive the development of business intelligence that promotes and empowers a self-service data literate organisation. Ensure that business intelligence solutions meet the needs of the business.
4. Collaborate with key stakeholders, business leads and report owners to clarify, scope, and deliver against business requirements. Encourage a flexible and agile approach to business intelligence, ensuring the capability to change reporting focus as new priorities or solutions are developed. Highlight any risks to delivery to appropriate stakeholders.
5. Actively engage in continuous improvement activity that further enhances the force`s ability to deliver a quality standard of service to customers, including the improvement of organisational data quality and by making recommendations regarding ongoing improvements to data visualisation, including new information
6. Support and provide expert advice to internal departments through documentation, guides, training and demonstrations as well as facilitate communication with the technical development team.

Qualifications
NQF Level 5 in Statistical, Scientific, Finance or Business discipline or substantial (minimum 2 years)


Experience
experience in an analytics, business analysis or comparable Business Intelligence position
Interpretation and statistical analysis of performance information
Managing and prioritising competing demands and working to tight deadlines

Experience of building business intelligence & analytics capability
Working for a large organisation, preferably within a police environment
Communicates and engages effectively, both in writing and verbally (including presentations) with a range of stakeholders
Excellent IT skills, with sound experience of all modules of Microsoft Office (in particular a proven advanced competence in Excel)
Technical skills in scoping, designing and building data visualisations using software such as PowerBI or Qlik etc.
Experience gathering and reflecting stakeholder requirements, asking the correct questions to ensure the most effective reports and dashboards are designed
Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Able to quickly understand and grasp complex issues
Self motivated with drive and determination and focused on achieving high levels of performance
Take personal responsibility for own actions and show genuine desire to improve organisational performance and make a difference
Demonstrates innovative and flexible approach to working practices and the ability to work unsupervised


You must have a full, clean driving licence
