Job Description
Job title: Data Analyst
Contract type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday (09:00 - 17:00) 35 hours in total
Salary: Starting from £21,000 per annum (negotiable)
Location: Hull
We are looking for a Data Analyst to join one of our successful clients in their Hull City Centre office.
The successful candidate will be dynamic and ambitious individual who can bring relevant experience in gathering, processing, and analysing large volumes of data.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Creating reports to specifications provided by business stakeholders using best practice techniques, templates, and processes
- Interpreting data and presenting findings, both with stakeholders in the business as well as externally
- Responding to data-related queries and keeping track of these
- Use a range of techniques to produce high quality reports
- To provide support for other teams who manage and capture data
- Setting up processes and systems to make working with data more efficient
- Analysing data to identify trends
- Producing reports and charts communicating trends within data to non-specialists
- Researching new ways to make use of data
- Assist with data migration or similar projects
- Data collection, processing, and cleansing.
Education, skills, and competencies
Essential:
- A good working knowledge of Excel, preferably understanding some functions such as VLOOKUP and also pivot tables
- A high level of concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with ability to assimilate information and translate complex information into a concise report
- Professional but also friendly, reliable, and honest
- Logical thinker
- Able to work on own and as part of a team
- Grade 4/C GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English Language is essential
Desirable:
- Recent Data Analyst experience or a recent graduate of a mathematical/computer science or data driven degree
- 2 A levels or equivalent, one of which being computer science/business/accounting/maths would be preferable but not essential
- Experience with SQL Server, SSMS, T-SQL, stored procedures, SSRS, SSIS or C#
- A background in linguistics would be preferable but not essential
