Job Description

We have 2 positions available working as Data and Information Analyst within NHS Digital. This is long-term temporary role.

Location- Working from home but then a hybrid model will be introduced where you will work some days in the office and some days at home - the office will be based in Leeds City Centre

Hours- Monday- Friday 37.5 hours a week - flexible hours

Salary- £12.74 per hour

INFORMATION ANALYST BAND 5

Job description

We are looking for 2 analyts to join our team at NHS Digital to work on the Appointments in General Practice dataset. The job will involve producing regular official statistics publications, ad hoc data analysis, and supporting the team with future planned development work. The dataset is of high interest and the team works with Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England & Improvement and NHS X. These roles will also involve working with the new GP Data for Planning And Research.

The role requires someone with the following;

Experience of using at least one of the following; Python, SQL, SAS EG, or Databricks

Strong analytic and requirements gathering skills

Ability to work as part of a team - this is key as you will be working within a small team working towards deadlines

Ability to communicate findings and analysis to wider team and external customers

The successful candidates will have the following skills / experience;

2:1 degree in science, technology, maths, engineering or related subject or equivalent experience

Strong analytical and requirements gathering skills.

Able to understand and interpret results from complex analysis, apply the results to the given problem and suggest conclusions to be drawn.

Able to present and explain results of analysis via written and verbal communication.

Good working knowledge and experience of databases including database interrogation tools. Excellent spreadsheet skills, with experience of making use of their wider functionality (e.g. formulae).

Experience of working with one of the following: MS SQL Server or SAS Enterprise guide or knowledge of coding in python or R.

Understanding of a wide range of data quality issues and the application of the appropriate data validation techniques

You must be able to pass a basic DBS check to begin this position.

You must also hold a current valid passport or full birth certificate supported by a driving license
