Job Description

My public sector client based in Lichfield is looking for a Data Governance Analyst, to support their department. This is a temporary assignment for 6 months, Monday to Friday paying £13.70 p/hr, full time 37.50 hours a week. This role is a hybrid role: home working and onsite working.

The Data Governance Analyst role is to provide support and advice to ensure that the
activities they are undertaking are aligned to the wider Data Governance programme. The role works alongside business and technical stakeholders across the business to deliver the data strategy and data governance vision

Your main responsibilities will be data ownership and accountability. You will work alongside colleagues to understand their data management issues, requirements and opportunities in order to maximise value derived from data. You will need to take lead responsibility on specific projects in conjunction with the wider team and facilitate collaborative working and knowledge sharing.

More specifically you will:
" Utilise the Data Governance framework and structure by providing advice and guidance to the wider business on how Data Governance needs to operate successfully into a BAU environment
" Work with subject area Data Stewards and stakeholders to implement strategies and approaches (as agreed with Data Governance line management) in support of their business activities
" Provide a level of subject matter knowledge and skills on all issues relating to the data management and data exploitation needed to maximise value from data as a corporate asset, referring to senior management as appropriate for guidance and advice
" Manage and maintain own delivery plans to provide clarity on activity and deliverables
" Develops a network of effective working relationships across a range of directorate staff and other users (particularly where business stakeholders are dispersed around various geographic locations)
" Gains trust of stakeholders to commit to ideas by engaging and collaborating
" Collaborates with members of the Data Governance team and senior executives to ensure Data Governance alignment with the overall business strategy and ongoing initiatives
" Support PCF management as and when required

The ideal candidate will have excellent data and data base management skills and organisational experience. You must have an attention to detail and ability to work in a structured environment. You will be articulate, an excellent communicator and effective team player.

This role will require SC clearance to be in place before you start on the assignment, which can take 6 to 8 weeks so please only apply if you are able to wait for this to come through.
