Job Description

Brook Street are looking for a Data Subject Rights Officer to work with our client Health Education England (HEE) on a temporary basis for 3 Months but is likely to be extended. This will be a full time position

Working hours: Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Pay Rate: £14.33ph rising to £16.04ph after 12 weeks in the assignment
Address: Blenheim House, Leeds (Working from home role but can attend local HEE office)

As Data Subject Rights Officer, the post holder will work as part of the Corporate Affairs team in delivering an effective service, supporting colleagues across Health Education England (HEE) to deliver high quality, timely and accurate responses to Data Subject Rights Requests.
The role will require the post holder to be well organised, efficient, and work well under pressure as well as being resourceful and have exceptional communication skills.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Significant experience in Data Protection principles
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Strong working knowledge of maintaining confidentiality and implementing data protection legislation requirements including information governance
  • Experience and understanding of the Data Protection Act (DPA) and of maintaining confidentiality
  • Experience in communications and stakeholder management
  • Experience of drafting DPA responses
  • Experience of taking information from a number of sources and provide analysis, summary and options within detailed report information

About the role:

  • Ensure that all statutory and legal deadlines are met and adhered to in terms of DPA
  • Assist in reviewing the effectiveness of the team process
  • Input to board in respect of team performance against statutory and legal deadlines and through fare of work
  • Prioritises own workload and manages own time in a manner that maintains and promotes high quality as well as evaluating the quality of your own work and raises quality issues and related risks to their manager
  • Is an ambassador for policies and procedures adopted by organisation and promotes a positive approach to high quality standards making others aware of the impact of quality
  • Understands own role, its scope and how this may change and develop over time in developing a high-quality organisation
  • Supports changes in own area that improves the quality of systems and processes.
  • Uses organisation equipment and resources effectively and encourages others to do the same.
  • Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive, or contentious information where there may be barriers to communication or where negotiating/influencing skills are required to secure agreement or cooperation
  • Establish and proactively maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Timely and accurate information analysis and reporting, with information in a suitable format for the relevant
  • Contributing and offering advice in your area of expertise
  • Managing expectations of internal and external stakeholders as well as providing assurances that deadlines will be adhered to
  • Timely and accurate information analysis and reporting to the wider team to enable decision making and further understanding of processes.
