Day Services Officer

Job Description

Would you like the exciting opportunity to join a well regarded local disability charity who provide invaluable, tailored support to adults, young people and children living with disabilities within Stockport & surrounding areas. The charity works closely with service users and their parents/carers to offer a range of activities designed to maintain and improve individual`s quality of life by broadening experiences and developing networks in their local and surrounding area.

As a Day Service Officer you will report directly to the Head of Day Services.
You will have responsibility for managing, developing and deploying a team of Support Workers who will provide activity groups for disabled service users aged 18+ with complex needs.
This will include planning and delivering a service that supports service users in a wide range of building based activities of their choice.
In additional you will have responsibility for ensuring high standards of support to enable disabled service users to lead a full and active life, including taking a lead on creating a broad range of stimulating and high quality group activities as well as assisting in developing and responding to the changing demands of service users, legislation, policies and best practice.

To be eligible for this role it is essential that you have:
A minimum of 2 years` experience of health and/or social care services working within the field of disabilities
One years` experience of managing staff including providing staff supervision and day to day monitoring.
Must hold or be willing to work towards NVQ 4 in Health and Social Care.
