Day Youth Support Workers (Young People)

Job Description

A well established Education & Residential service for Children / Young People based in a fabulous Grade 2 listed buildings with outstanding beautiful grounds are recruiting for Day Support Workers in Dorset. The premises can hold upto 60 students between the age of 16 - 25 year olds who have various needs such as ABI, Autism, Aspergers, ASD, anxiety and mental health conditions and SEN who will display challenging behaviour.

Main Job Role:
- Supporting children through their morning, mealtime and evening routines
- Acting as a professional parent and role model
- Domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry, shopping and collecting medication
- Liaising & report writing for families and professionals (e.g. Social Workers)
- Support with free time and encouragement with activities when children come home from school, weekends and half term. Taking children on trips and holidays
- Providing a safe and secure environment for children to learn and grow, setting boundaries and giving positive reinforcement
- Implementing PRICE model of positive behaviour support and physical intervention
- No personal care

Qualifying candidates:
- Must have life, paid, personal or voluntary experience in care (any setting / sector)
- Must be 18 years old or over
- To get the higher end of the salary, you MUST have a Diploma / NVQ / QCF level 2 or 3 in Health and social care

Contract / Terms:
- Salary is £18,637- £20,508 per annum= £8.41 - £9.39 an hour
- Shifts are 8am - 8pm (12 hour shift pattern)
- You will work 4 days on and 4 days off (around 42 hours a week)
