With new publications and a bit of growth we're looking for a new Editor and Deputy Editor for a couple of our Industry leading magazines.
With over 25 years experience in the sector we publish leading magazines over the energy sector including Fuels and Bio Energy along with surrounding industries. We're established in our field with a great team, it's a focused office space with everybody playing their part in the successes of the business.
As Deputy Editor you will have some amazing opportunities to travel. With around 4-5 trade events a year there will be great opportunities across Europe and the United States and possibilities with emerging markets in the Far East.
You will be working on a couple of publications both in print and online with printed reader base of around 3000 for the various bi-monthly publications we run.
In your new role you will be working closely with the Editor and Junior Editor creating and being involved with great new content for news pages in the different publications, commissioning articles, working with freelancers and contributors, liaising with press agencies as well as international companies.
It can be a challenging role and although we don't expect you to join us a fully-fledged expert in our industry we do want you to get involved at the trade shows and become a trusted voice with feature writing, sub-editing, collating and updating news both print and online, preparing weekly newsletters, updating social media platforms and interviewing experts with a view to creating original content.
We have a defined house style and brand that you will be stepping into. Working with a great team of Senior and Junior editors alongside our sales and design teams. We want you to make the role your own, a real self-starter who can hit the ground running.
Our ideal candidate would be an existing Deputy Editor looking for a new challenge or a journalist looking for a step up. Somebody from the B2B side of journalism would be great as we want you to bring a certain sense of commercial awareness.
We'd also love somebody with a good knowledge of Social Media for highlighting new articles and a candidate who can understand technical content.
Our solid requirements are……
" Excellent communication skills both on the phone and written English
" Knowledge of proofing and sub-editing for both print and digital
" Ability to conduct research and interviews, validate sources and fit in with our in-house style.
" Must be comfortable on the phone to conduct interviews and chase content suppliers/sources/contributors
