Job Description

We are looking for Deputy Manager to join their team in the Gunnislake area. We are looking for enthusiastic staff to join the team in this new home. We will provide you with a full induction, competency and growth framework. This framework will ensure that you have competent training, mentoring and supervision to provide you with a chosen career path within social care which will be recognised with an attractive pay progression.

Devon & Cornwall Children`s Services specialises in high quality residential and educational provisions for children between 7-19 who may have EMSH and /or Autism. The safeguarding and well-being of our young people who may have experienced challenges in their lives is always paramount; along with encouragement to achieve their full potential.

Devon & Cornwall Children`s Services currently have two educational settings, and a number of Children`s Homes in few locations.

The role involves providing support to the Registered Manager along with the ability to run shifts including organising, monitoring and evidencing young people`s activities. You will also support in the supervision of a small team of residential support workers which includes mentoring, supervision meetings and training.

What we`d like from you:

Hold a strong ethos where safeguarding is paramount
Act calm under pressure and be an excellent communicator
Offer a high degree of flexibility
Hold a minimum Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People`s Workforce and be prepared to work towards Level 5 Diploma
Hold previous experience in a care setting, particularly working with Special Education Needs or residential child care
Hold previous knowledge of budgets, monitoring and auditing along with previous experience at a supervisory or senior level.

This role includes weekends and evening work. You may be required to work at one of our other homes and so own transport is essential for this post.
