Job Description

Role - Deputy Manager Residential Short Breaks
Location - Bristol
Hours - 36 hours per week. To include some evening and weekend work on a rota basis
Salary - £26,465 FTE Per Annum

We are recruiting for a Deputy Manager role in the Bristol area to help manage 7 bed residential short breaks home for children and young adults

You will be the Deputy Manager of 7 bed residential home in Almondsbury.

You will facilitate a warm accepting environment where the physical, emotional, health, social (including play & leisure), educational, communication, cultural and spiritual needs of children and Young people can be met and ensuring that short breaks are a positive experience for the Children and Young People and their carer's.

You will work closely with the Registered Manager in managing the residential short breaks facility in accordance with all relevant legislation and the company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety and Risk Assessments, ensuring the centre meets all Ofsted requirements and ensure the service is delivered and developed in line with the Children's Homes Guide, the Department for Education Children's Homes Guidance and Regulations any other applicable legislation/regulatory guidance.

The company provides short breaks for children and young people with additional needs. With an enthusiastic team that work together to maintain a homely atmosphere where young people feel safe. They provide not only care and support but also love, ensuring that all views are taken into account; racial, religious, cultural, dietary, health, educational, gender and social needs and also, children and young people are consulted about what they would like to do during their stay. The team is actively involved in supporting children to thrive and achieve their independence and living skills as well as having positive experiences in the home and the community.

The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:

Experience of working with Children and Young People, ideally including disabled people.
A qualification within health and social care, at either NVQ level 3 or equivalent, would be offered training to work towards NVQ Level 5
Experience of working in a residential setting.
The ability to lead staff and operations in a manner that delivers the best possible care for disabled Children and Young People.
Ability to run the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
The ability to supervise/ appraise a small team in a manner that delivers the best possible care for disabled Children and Young People.
