Deputy Manager - Children's Residential!

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced deputy manager to join an incredible company that provide outstanding quality care in Bolton. My client is looking for a deputy manager to assist the registered manager in the effective and safe running of a children's home. This is a mixed gender children's home for children aged between 8 and 18 who suffer from EBD or Mental health related illnesses.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a deputy manager or extensive experience as a team leader ready to become a deputy manager. This experience has to be within a children's residential setting or within a setting of working with Children with EBD or mental health related illnesses. It is also essential that you have a level 3 in health and social care (preferably in children and young people) or a Level 3 in Childcare. Being a driver and having access to your own vehicle would be ideal as you may need to drive pool cars and travel from services on the odd occasion.

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity, you will be at the forefront of doing something amazing as your leadership and assistance to the manager will be going towards OFSTED standards. Not only that you will be making a positive contribution to the lives of the children.
You will be fun to be around, able to communicate effectively and flexible to work shifts. A strong IT knowledge would be an advantage as you will be report writing, helping with staff rotas, keeping on top of your emails and more! As deputy manager your role is to provide direct assistance to the registered manager and to be the point of contact when the registered manager is away or off shift. You will have great leadership qualities and be able to work as part of a team.

Your days will never be boring though! No two days will ever be the same and you will look to be a great example for the children, encouraging them to participate in day to day living and co-ordinating trips out and fun activities etc.

For this role you must be compassionate and have a real passion to work for and with children. You will need to show character and resilience but also empathy and also be assertive when required.
