Job Description

Due to huge success and continued growth my client is seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to their highly successful Drawing Office.

The company, based in Worcestershire, are the UK`s largest commercial vehicle conversion manufacturer. They are well known for the quality work they do, and with business at an all time high, there has never been a better time to join!

Once you have shown interest in this vacancy, you will be sent a pre screening questionnaire to complete.

You will work in the drawing office and ensure that the work you create is being produced to the highest of standards by the engineers on the shop floor. You will have the ability to design and create 2D drawings and 3D models with AutoCAD 2014. This is an essential part of the job.
You will be the link between the work you produce and the finished products by constantly communicating with the engineers. You will have strong experience with low volume, one off manufacturing and ensure the smoothest of operations in all tasks you undertake.
In this role the successful candidate will work as part of a team to produce designs for the in-house manufacturing plant. This role will require you to have Mechanical/Design knowledge, as well as experience in using CAD software. You will be given full product training to ensure you are familiar with the range of unique products.

The role will also require:
Working on a range of light to heavy duty commercial vehicle projects
Identifying customer requirements/ specifications, reproducing these into concept designs
Design of assemblies in 2D/3D ranging from full assembly down to individual parts
Creation of BOM
Full product cycle experience from design through to manufacturing

You will have experience of compiling comprehensive bills of materials (BOM) and strong working knowledge of engineering standards such as BS, DIN and ISO. Having the ability to set and install CAD systems is advantageous, and designing light, medium sheet metal and heavy metal fabrications is essential!

Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail are vital to be successful in the job.

The salary offered for this role will be up to £35,000 pending experience. This is a full time, permanent position Monday - Friday.
