Job Description

We have an exciting position based within an emergency services provider for IT engineers on a temporary basis and is expected to run until 01/11/19. The location is based on the outskirts of Nottingham and so has limited public transport but does benefit with on-site parking.

The role will be to provide on-site and remote support for the full range of IT infrastructure and software products used by the emergency services. You will be dealing with a broad spectrum of IT related support including new builds, take a technical lead and participate in the deployment of a new infrastructure and software technologies improvements. You will also be required to complete installations, office moves and infrastructure re-cabling, completing site surveys, meeting health and safety regulations and IT security and quality of standards. You may also be responsible for covering control rooms and other secure venues/Departments. The role will include a wide range of support that is adhoc and sometimes needing to respond at short notice.

The role is required to work in environments where confidentiality, security and safety is of paramount importance for all users.

You will need to have proven experience working in a large and complex IT environment as you will be part of a team supporting
services to over 5500 users, at 70 locations across the County, using over 300 IT systems. You will have technical knowledge and experience of configuring devices in a Windows/non Windows managed environment and you will need to have experience of applying security and quality standards to all tasks undertaken.

The successful individual will need to clear vetting which can take around 6x weeks to complete but will benefit from paid holidays and pension whilst gaining experience within a government supported organisation.
