Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an education support worker at a service set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This school shares its facilities and campus with a college unit, both the college and school sit in 16 acres of listed gardens and a wider 50 acre campus - a beautiful and rare place to work.

As an Education Support worker your role will include supporting teaching staff to deliver on a daily basis a broad and balanced curriculum for young people both on and off site. Post holders will work on a 1:1 basis with students when required as well as support in class with a small group.

Key duties:

Support and facilitate the learning and independence of our students.
Contribute to planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation of education programmes, plans and reports as required.
Contribute to assessing, recording, and reporting on young peoples' progress
Promote and encourage independence at all times.
Keep records accurately and up-to-date
Ensure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed at all times
Promote the development of positive social behaviours and self-regulation skills
Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required. Within this role post holders must be prepared to support on the residential care side of the site on occasion.

Successful candidate qualities:

Full UK driving licence and access to your own car
Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English
Have some knowledge or experience of working within an education setting
Be positive and creative in meeting young person's needs
Be able to work on your own as well as part of a team
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Competent ICT skills

Location: Wimborne, Dorset

Salary: £8.95-£9.65 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week, term time only
