Job Description

We have a vacancy for an experienced and qualified electrician to join our multi-disciplined property maintenance team who are based in Blackheath, South East London, and also support our site at Beckenham, Kent when required. We need an enthusiastic and self-motivated electrician with a customer oriented approach.

This permanent role is 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 8am to 5pm and Friday, 8am to 4pm. The pay is on an hourly rate of £15.92 during normal working hours Monday to Friday (equivalent to salary of £32,28 5per annum).

This role also includes the Duty Engineer rota which operates Friday to Thursday, after hours on weekdays, and on weekends. The role may be on the rota 6 times per year, roughly once every 2 months. For call outs during duty, the pay is £18.45 per hour, with a minimum 3 hours paid per call out.

You will be required to attend to both domestic properties for our beneficiaries and commercial/private tenants to carry out a range of electrical contracting duties, which can include rewires, new installations, consumer unit upgrades, testing, fault finding. You`ll have a recognised electrician`s qualification including City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing level 3 with City & Guilds Electrical Engineering National Award Level 4 (C-Cert for the electrical technician) or equivalent and a 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations qualification being essential, with experience of fault finding and testing of domestic electrical circuits preferred.

You will need to have a clean driving license, access to a vehicle, and your own hand tools, however we will provide you with a uniform and PPE to use when on duty.

The successful candidate must have a positive attitude towards work and be a team player as well as being able to work alone or without any supervision. Having good communication skills (both verbally and written) is also essential as this role will be dealing with our beneficiaries and tenants on a daily basis.
