Brook Street is currently working on behalf of our Global IT Client to recruit a Employee Communications Programme Manager
This is a contract role based in Reading, initial contract through to 30th June 2020
As a Brook Street contractor you will be entitled to 25 days holiday per annum, 8 days paid Bank Holidays pro rota, discounted gym membership, use of the onsite health facility, access to online learning and training, free parking and an excellent subsidised restaurant.
Salary: £78,650 plus 5% end of contract bonus depending on experience
The UK communications team provides strategic communications advice to the business, building and protecting our brand and reputation by influencing the external and internal narrative about Microsoft and its role in the UK. We work through many communications channels including traditional and digital media, our own channels, social media, word of mouth and direct engagement with customers and partners as appropriate.
We create and communicate narratives explaining our overarching story as well as our individual businesses, giving overall context and proving our brand relevance to our many different audiences. We demonstrate thought leadership to show our market leadership, innovation and future vision. We act as an internal catalyst, providing market insight and helping to shape our business strategy. We build employee advocacy, understanding of and passion for our products and our company so that employees and staff feel part of the wider UK community, view the company as an environment where they are able to do their best and believe in our strategy, direction and leadership.
Thorough and consistent management and delivery of internal communications programmes to positively impact and advance our UK`s internal communications goals
o Advising and supporting stakeholders and leaders with solid communications expertise in building the right plans/ execution in support of our internal communications goals in the UK
o Partnering with in house resources and teams ( in the UK, US and agency) to create compelling comms programmes and outcomes ensuring coordination and alignment of messages and activities
o Support development, tracking and reporting of UK internal communications impact
o Lead implementation, delivery and progress tacking for key programmes and campaigns - eg AI, lead comms partner for the HR function and employee resource groups (ERGs), learning and other broad internal awareness/readiness initiatives
o Support Head of Employee Communications on priority programmes as required (eg video/asset creation, town halls, Brexit communications, our own transformation communications)

o Quick to learn, and synthesise complex and varying information/briefs into comms deliverables
o Ability to effectively and efficiently prioritise, plan, deliver and assess/report impact of internal comms campaigns, content and programmes, on time and to budget
o Acts as evangelist and advocate for the wider comms and PR team, seamlessly bridging the intersection between internal and external comms as appropriate
o Well developed judgement skills to bring the right balance of professional expertise and added value to our communications efforts whilst staying focused on core priorities and briefs
o Viewed as respected as a highly valued partner and advisor to all relevant business groups and stakeholders
o Takes a highly collaborative approach to communications and stakeholder engagement, demonstrating diplomacy and sensitivity, including the ability to resolve conflict and ambiguity and achieve outcomes that deliver tangible positive impact for us in the UK
