Role - Environment Officer
Hours - 07:45am - 4:45pm
Monday to Friday
Location - HU12
Salary - £30,000 - £35,000 Depending on Experience
An exciting opportunity is available with a very prestige client of ours; the role is for an Environment Officer in Preston, Hull.
Please see below the main duties involved;
Main duties include:
Providing Directors and Senior Managers with appropriate technical support and guidance on environmental & sustainability issues and proactively supporting and improving the site's environmental systems and processes to ensure compliance with legislative requirements is critical to the role.
Aiding the site H&S Manager with the day to day management of the HS&E function
Supporting the H&S Manager in site compliance by providing advice and guidance on relevant legal and best practice standards and supporting the sites management team to implement and deliver the required standards whilst supporting a platform for continuous improvement
Supporting the H&S Manager to implement Quality, H&S and Environmental and Ethical policies will require the successful candidate to stay abreast of updated legislation and best practice and be able to translate this into practical standards
Carrying out inspections and audits that provide progressive but achievable targets
Have a strong collaborative approach is required that achieves a positive and committed relationship between EHS and the on-site teams that enables and sustains buy-in to EHS
The ability to proactively promote awareness of environmental issues is essential along with the ability to be firm on EHS business critical decisions
Analysing data and compile reports that can be communicated in a simple but effective manner
Attend internal EHS meetings require the candidate to be motivated and open to sharing best practice
Communicating through written English and conducting full and thorough investigations & documentation of Environmental issues that occur on site or are reported to site along with the completion of accident investigations and reviewing of risk assessments after accidents/incidents or operational change.
Demonstrating experience of permit compliance and ISO14001 / 50001
Due to this it is highly important the successful candidate has IEMA associate certificate or proven relevant experience. This role will suit someone looking to move onto their first/next step leadership role and keen to learn and progress in a challenging but rewarding environment.
