Events Organiser
Salary: £31,827 per annum plus £4410 London Weighting
Location: Working from home, but you will be encouraged to work in their offices in West London once a week in the first few weeks
Hours: Monday-Friday - 35 hours - Flexible working options between the hours of 8am-6pm (8am-6pm, 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm) - Possibility of one Saturday and one evening per month which can be claimed back

Our client is an award-winning registered trade union based in West London, just a 5-10 minute distance from Soho and Mayfair. We are looking to recruit an Events Organiser to join their Marketing and Business Development division on a temporary basis for two months until the end of November.

As and Events Organiser, you will be working as part of a small team of 10 that offer a friendly, supportive and collaborative environment. Your position will play a key part of the Events Team to produce a range of events, including virtual and hybrid events to an agreed standard and budget.

Responsibilities of Events Organiser:

  • Using your numerical skills, you will prepare event budgets within agreed limits and undertake all daily budgetary management, including preparing monthly reports for the Business Events Manager
  • Perform research into each of the events professional, educational and financial capability, identifying and communicating with key stakeholders
  • Communicate with event commissioners, colleagues, employees and other experts to develop an advanced and stimulating programme that meets the identified needs of the target audience
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in commissioning groups to support them in preparing bids for events for approval by the Events Management Team and appropriate governance groups
  • Take responsibility of all logistical planning, including venue sourcing and liaison, technical requirements, continuing education accreditation and liaison with speakers etc
  • Produce and agree Service Level Agreements and project plan for events
  • Keeping within corporate guidelines, you will organise the marketing and publicity of each event
  • Work closely with the Events Registration team to ensure the efficient registration of all participants, prior to, on-site and following the event
  • Fully evaluate each event and prepare reports and financial outcomes for clients within 6 weeks of an event taking place
  • Undertake all on-site management including liaising with exhibitors


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Substantial experience, knowledge and understanding of organising conferences and events including virtual and hybrid events
  • Knowledge of a complex public sector/nursing/membership/ customer-focused organisation
  • Experience of organising events under the direction of a Project Manager and/or project board
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet and diary software to an intermediate level
  • Good prioritising and planning skills to ensure that tight deadlines are achieved under pressure
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to deliver clear and precise written reports, correspondence, and documentation
  • Ability to work methodically and logically under pressure in order to offer a quality service
  • Ability to negotiate and influence when working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that deadlines are met
