Job Description

Examination Secretary (Clinical)
Temporary with view to becoming permanent
Monday-Friday 36.5 hours
£12.04-£13.88ph depending on experience
Coventry

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Administrative Lead as and when required in all matters relating to the smooth running of all examinations. This will include liaison with external examiners, and academic and clinical colleagues in order to ensure particularly that the clinical examinations are correctly examined, marked and quality assured.
  • Provide secretariat support and organise clinical assessment related meetings, ensuring that meetings are held routinely, communicated to the team, and that assessment material is appropriately and securely distributed.
  • Co-ordinate OSLER patient allocations in partner trusts.
  • Responsible for quality control of the clinical examinations spreadsheets used for summative assessments.
  • Maintain an understanding of wider regulatory issues and innovations.


Essential

  • Excellent organisational skills and able to work accurately to tight deadlines.
  • The ability to use initiative and to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • A levels or equivalent including GCSE Maths and English, or previous experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent IT skills (particularly use of outlook, word and excel).
  • Ability to devise and operate Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience of long term planning on an 12-18 month cycle.


Desirable

  • Have undertaken a previous examinations or assessment related role.
  • Experience planning large scale events.
