Brook Street has been chosen as a recruitment partner to hire temporary admin and clerical workers for central government departments and the public sector across the UK. We`re currently looking for an experienced, professional Executive Secretary / Personal Assistant for a governmental department in (London).
This is an ongoing, long-term temporary assignment, working (Monday- Friday) and many of these opportunities offer a significant pay increase on completion of 12 weeks in the same department.
Providing high-level, diverse secretarial and administrative support to one or two key senior managers, your duties will include:
Composing non-routine correspondence
Compiling reports
Transcribing dictation
Typing documents, using word processor or spreadsheet software
Receiving visitors
Screening and directing manager`s telephone calls
Diary management
Arranging meetings or travel
Maintaining records or files
Standard benefits of working for central government / wider public sector:
Pay increase after 12 continuous weeks in the majority of departments
Potential for long-term or multiple temp assignments once you hold security clearance
Minimum of 35 days holiday (pro rata) following 12 consecutive weeks in the same department

Typical qualifications and experience required:
Stage III RSA certificate (or equivalent) in typing / word processing
Minimum typing speed of 60 wpm combined with advanced audio typing skills and shorthand if required at 110 / 120wpm
Preferably a member of IQPS
Experience as an executive secretary / personal assistant
An advanced level of computer literacy and wide knowledge of relevant software packages
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
